SMG and its supporting organisations have run Seminar programs in government schools for over 15 years. Seminars are provided as a resource for Inter-church groups and Schools. Gifted youth communicators, and youth workers present our seminars. Our seminars aim to be highly entertaining, interactive and thought provoking by including:

Respect The Planet - Helping the environment

Aimed at Years 4 - 7
Since the industrial revolution humans have advanced above and beyond our technological expectations. However, we are only now realising the impact these advances are having on our planet. We believe that God has given us an amazing home in planet earth but that we also have a responsibility to keep it beautiful. This seminar aims to educate students on the effects we as humans have on the planet and encourages steps to ensure a better future.

Life Keeps Changing - Learning to survive and grow with change

Year 4 - 7
These days life seems to continually change, and its not just adults that experience change, but many children too. Changes occur in the family, at school, in technology and within society. Experiences of change can often bring about mixed feelings and emotions such as grief and loss.
This bold and dynamic seminar aims to help students explore various strategies for surviving and growing with the change that occurs in their life.

Who am I? - Exploring image and identity

Year 4 -7
As children grow up, their exposure to technology, the media and peer pressure often increases, which at times can greatly influence their journey of discovering who they are.
This fun and engaging seminar aims to help students explore the different issues and pressures that are present within society and explores ways to develop a healthy and positive self image and identity.

Bullying -Dealing with bullying

Bullying can be a major problem in schools. No one enjoys being bullied and everyone has the right to feel safe at school. This fun and interactive seminar will help students to think about the impact of bullying and work through strategies for overcoming bullies at school.

Who's your hero? - Heroes

Society often makes heroes of sport stars, celebraties, and everyday citizens who do something extraordinary. But what really qualifies them and do they really make good heroes that we can look up to and learn from? This bold and dynamic seminar aims to help students think about the importance of finding heroes in their lives who inspire them. It also challenges students to consider how they can be heroes.

Extreme Sport - Extreme Life and Adventure

Action and adventure is always exciting. This lively seminar aims to help students think about making the most of life and their opportunities. In life there are often hardships but from the hardships we learn to grow to our full potential. Motorbikes will be used within seminar.

Easter - Exploring the meaning of Easter

Ask a child or teenager what the meaning of Easter is and you normally hear two common words: holidays and chocolate. But surely there is more depth as to why a significant portion of the world celebrates Easter. With the use of current DVD clips and interactive activities, this lively seminar will help students to explore what they believe about Easter as well as the central Christian beliefs.

Narnia - Exploring one of the greatest stories

Let the adventure of Narnia take students on a journey to discover what life can be like with Aslan. This seminar, using C. S. Lewis'. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' will help children explore topics of selfishness, forgiveness and love.

Christmas - Exploring the meaning of Christmas

Ask a child or teenager what they think Christmas means and you normall hear the words 'holidays' and 'presents'. But surely there is more depth as to why a significant protion of the world celebrates Christmas. With the use of current DVD clips and interactive activities, this lively seminar will hel students to explore what they believe about Christmas as well as the central Christian beliefs.

Friendships - Caring for each other

This creative and engaging seminar looks at the importance of friendships in life, explores the concept of being friends with God and what it means to be a good friend to others.
Two separate seminars are offered on this topic, one aimed at junior primary (years R-3) and one at upper primary (years 4-7).

Kids helping Kids - Social Justice

Aimed at Years 4 - 7
Extreme poverty remains a massive issue in our world that has the wealth, the knowledge and the technology to substantially improve the lives of millions, if not billions, of the poorest people on the planet. This seminar aims to make students aware of the realities of global poverty and explores practical ways students can make a difference to the world they live in.

Seminars are available for all ages of students in primary and high school.
