Local Christian Communities such as Inter-Church Groups or Christian Ministers Associations, are the groups that are permitted to employ CPS Workers to work in South Australian government schools within their geographical region. They hold all the usual responsibilities of an employer including financial, legal and pastoral care provisions for their CPS Worker(s).
It is our aim at SMG to support the 86 Employing Groups of CPS Workers across South Australia in the best way we can in their endeavour to provide Christian Ministry to their local schools. For this reason, each year SMG holds two Employers Forum evenings, which provide the opportunity to inform Employing Groups of all the latest information relating to the CPS Program and the employment of CPS Workers. They provide Employing Groups with the chance to ask any questions they may have about the program and their role, and an opportunity for Employing Group members to network with the each other.
It is also provides an opportunity for members of Employing Groups to hear the state-wide picture of schools ministry and to discuss topics of mutual interest with SMG and receive resources to assist them in their role. The next Employers Forum is: 7.30pm, Wednesday 30th November, 2011 At the Schools Ministry Group Office
